More than any time during the past 15 years, now is the most favorable time to offer Disability Income protection to many of your clients.
Reductions in rates and occupational upgrades make DI more affordable than ever!
W-2 employees in eligible paraprofessional or skilled trade occupations applying for DI can now receive occupational class upgrades to reduce their premiums and increase their coverage.
Details and Qualifications:
A paraprofessional is a person who is trained, certified or licensed to assist a Doctor, Surgeon, Dentist, Veterinarian, and Registered Nurses. Skilled Trades Workers are persons trained, certified or licensed in a trade or type of work that requires special training, advanced skill, or manual proficiency – such as Carpenters, Plumbers, Electricians, Mechanics, HVAC Technicians, and Machinists.
To qualify for the occupation upgrade, the applicant must have gainful employment for the past two years and earn at least $30,000 annually.
Effective January 1st, the Business Owner Occupation upgrades will include the optional benefits and riders available to the upgraded occupation class – so, your clients have even more coverage options with lower premiums available to them. To qualify for Business Owner upgrades, there must be at least 20% ownership in the business and demonstrate two consecutive years of profitable business operations during underwriting.
