Recently there has been much talk about Heartbleed, a serious vulnerability in the popular OpenSSL cryptographic software library. None of the systems at CPS utilize the OpenSSL software library, so rest assured that your data is secure. That said, we do recommend that you update your password on a regular basis.
What is Heartbleed?
According to heartbleed.com, it represents “a serious vulnerability in the popular OpenSSL cryptographic software library. This weakness allows stealing the information protected, under normal conditions, by the SSL/TLS encryption used to secure the Internet. SSL/TLS provides communication security and privacy over the Internet for applications such as web, email, instant messaging and some virtual private networks.”
